Ulf "Tickan" Carlsson (born 2 April 1961 in Falkenberg, Sweden) is a Swedish former table tennis player, active at international level during the 1980s. His best achievement was gold at the 1985 World Championships.

World championships

Carlsson competed at all championships from 1979 to 1989. His best result was in the doubles where he won gold together with Mikael Appelgren in 1985.

European Championships

He took part at all European championships between 1980 and 1988. He won the team tournament in 1980 and 1986 as part of the Swedish team. [1] He took silver in the Double together with Mikael Appelgren in 1986.

Other International Tournaments

His best places in Europe Top-12 were 4th (1986) and 6th (1987). He won the European League in 1986 as part of the Swedish team.

Club play

Carlsson played with Swedish team Falkenbergs BTK until 1980, when he joined German Bundesliga team TTC Simex Jülich, [2] with which he won the 1984 European Club Championships. He returned to Falkenberg in 1985, [3] later he would play for its Swedish competitors, BTK Lyckeby and BTK Halmstad. [4]

Gunde Anders Svan is a Swedish former cross-country skier and auto racing driver. During his cross-country skiing career he won a total of four gold, one silver and one bronze medals at the Winter Olympics. Svan won a total of seven golds, three silvers, and one bronze at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. Svan also won the 15 km once (1983) and the 50 km twice at the Holmenkollen ski festival. In 1984, he earned the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal, and in 1985, he earned the Holmenkollen medal. He is a board member of the International Ski Federation.

Mats Torsten Näslund, nicknamed "Le Petit Viking", is a Swedish former ice hockey player. He played as a left winger. Despite his small size at only five feet and seven inches, Näslund is best known for being one of the top forwards with the National Hockey League's Montreal Canadiens in the 1980s. In addition to the Canadiens, Näslund played for Timrå IK, Brynäs IF, and Malmö IF of the Swedish Elite League, and HC Lugano of the National League A.
